Privacy Policy
Effective August 1, 2026
Do not upload patient records or identifiable patient information. Priefly is designed for published clinical papers, not clinical records.
Information we process
We process account details you provide, paper links or PDFs submitted for summarization, settings such as specialty and detail level, generated summaries, paper questions, and basic technical usage data needed to secure and operate the service.
How paper files are handled
Uploaded PDFs are sent to the configured AI provider for temporary analysis. The application requests automatic file expiration and attempts deletion when the paper session ends. The application does not intentionally save uploaded PDFs in the user account database.
Saved briefs
For signed-in users, the generated structured brief and basic paper metadata may be saved so the user can reopen it later. The original PDF is not stored with the saved brief by this application.
Why we use information
Information is used to provide summaries and Q&A, maintain accounts and quotas, prevent abuse, troubleshoot errors, and evaluate service quality. We do not sell user data.
Advertising cookies
If advertising is enabled, third-party vendors including Google may use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this site or other sites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this site and other sites on the internet. Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. Other ad networks may provide their own opt-out controls.
Third-party processing
Paper content and prompts are processed by the configured AI API and hosting infrastructure. If advertising is enabled, ad requests and related technical data may be processed by Google AdSense. Third-party terms and data controls also apply. Deployment administrators should configure appropriate retention, consent, and regional settings before institutional use.
Security and retention
Passwords are stored using salted cryptographic hashes. Authentication cookies are HTTP-only. Temporary paper sessions expire automatically. Account and saved-brief data remain until removed by the service administrator or through a future deletion workflow.
Your choices
You may stop using the service and request deletion of your account and saved briefs by contacting the service administrator. Do not submit confidential, proprietary, or copyrighted material unless you are authorized to process it.
Clinical and institutional use
This beta is not configured as a repository for protected health information. Institutions should complete their own legal, privacy, security, and vendor assessments before deployment.
